Visio, access and Project development

Sorry for this entry being so late and all. I have just been so terribly busy with exams, reports and deliverables due that I only found time to do this now. Anyway, I really want to share my adventures with Visio and Access and what sir discussed about Project Development. Learning this stuff will be really helpful especially to those people who are going to be taking BA 186 a.k.a Systems Analysis and Design next year.

The subject is all about designing an Information System for an organization. As in that is what you are going to be doing the whole sem, and rightfully so because designing IT systems is no joke. There are a lot of deliverables and its hard to make them consistent with each other since we usually assign different deliverables to different members. Add to that the fact that my group was lucky enough to be assigned to the hardest topic- Licensing and Car Registration.

For the different processes, Visio was really helpful because the flowcharts are very complex. I can't imagine having to deal with that in MS Word. We use Access in creating the user interface. My professor was a bit disappointed that majority of my classmates were not familiar with these two softwares since they were supposed to be taught in 180.1. So it was kind of a good thing that I'm taking the supposed prerequisite for 186 now. Although I admit I am still not very good with either so thankfully, some of my members are pretty techie (is this the right spelling)?

I would have liked to post here some examples of our deliverables but we are still in the process of finalizing them. We are going to be presenting our system in class this Tuesday so wish us luck! =)
